Dr. Townsend Brown, Jr.
Dr. Townsend Brown, Jr. is a native of Virginia Beach, and graduated from Washington and Lee University and Georgetown University School of Dentistry. Upon graduating, he served in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps in Norfolk, Virginia, and aboard the USS Nimitz. He completed his specialty training at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry in Augusta, Georgia.
Dr. Brown has been practicing Pediatric Dentistry in Virginia Beach since 1981. He became Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry in 1986. Dr. Brown serves as the Division Director of Dentistry at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, Norfolk, Virginia. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Pediatric Dentistry at MCV School of Dentistry, Richmond, Virginia.
Dr. Brown and his wife reside in Norfolk with
their two golden retrievers. They have two sons and one
daughter. In his free time Dr. Brown enjoys cycling, tennis and
traveling with his family.

Kimberly Beckner ~ Practice Administrator Kimberly is our Practice Administrator. She started her career in the dental field as a dental assistant in 1992 and joined Dr. Brown’s dental team in October, 2003. Having experience in both clinical and business area of dentistry make Kim an excellent resource for parents and any questions they may have. Kimberly is originally from Pennsylvania. She currently resides in Chesapeake with her husband and their two boxer dogs. In her spare time she enjoys playing golf and spending time with her friends and family.

Maria Rasmussen ~ Accounts Coordinator Maria is our Accounts Coordinator. She has been in the dental field since 2004 and joined Dr. Brown’s dental team in October, 2007. She will handle any problem with insurance claims and discuss treatment plans with parents. She will also coordinate the Conscious Sedation appointments. Maria is originally from Maryland and currently resides in Virginia Beach. In her spare time she enjoys inline skating and racquetball.

Yvonne Kramp ~ Patient Coordinator Yvonne is our Scheduling Coordinator ready to greet you with a smile. She joined Dr. Brown’s dental team in October, 2007. She is responsible for scheduling patient appointments and will handle any scheduling concerns. Yvonne is a native of Virginia Beach and a proud Virginia Tech graduate (Go Hokies !!) She currently resides in Virginia Beach with her husband and their twin children.

Donna Ricapito ~ Dental Assistant Donna is a Dental Assistant who joined Dr. Brown’s dental team in October, 1982. She is one of the most outgoing of our wonderful team. She will greet your child with a very warm welcome and make you and your child feel right at home! She is a native of New York and currently resides in Virginia Beach with her husband. When not working she enjoys going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

Cindy Morrison ~ Dental Assistant Cindy is a Dental Assistant who joined Dr. Brown’s dental team in August, 1993. She truly enjoys making each and every child feel good about seeing the dentist and loves teaching them the importance of good dental health while making each visit fun. She is a native of Idaho and currently resides in Virginia Beach. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach and exercising.

Eunice Scott ~ Certified Dental Assistant Eunice is a Certified Dental Assistant who joined Dr. Brown’s dental team in April, 1996. She enjoys giving each child personal attention and educating them about the importance of good oral hygiene. She currently resides in Chesapeake. In her free time she enjoys outdoor activities and exercising.

Lindsey Byerley ~ Dental Assistant Lindsey is a dental assistant who recently joined Dr. Brown's dental team in January, 2009. She brings with her ten years of experience in the dental field. Her vivacious personality and sense of humor are great assets in working with children. She wants everyone to have lots of fun during their visit with us !! Lindsey speaks to preschool children teaching them the importance of good dental health. She is a native of Louisiana and currently resides in Virginia Beach with her husband and daughter Avery. In her spare time she loves spending time with her family and friends.

Latesa Chavis ~ Dental Assistant Latesa is a dental assistant who recently joined Dr. Brown’s dental team in April, 2009. Latesa chose to work in the pediatric dental field because she enjoys educating children on the importance of a healthy smile and good dental health. Latesa resides in Norfolk with her husband and her four children. Life outside work revolves around the children’s various school and sports activities. In her spare time she enjoys shopping, traveling, reading and watching her favorite TV shows.
